Gary M. DaVirro, D.D.S.Gary M. DaVirro began his career practicing orthodontics in Torrance and Lomita serving clients in the South Bay area from 1976 to 1995. In 1995 Dr. DaVirro expanded his practice to the Santa Ynez Valley with an office in Solvang. His practice is devoted to the care of children and adults. "The satisfaction I get from seeing the beautiful smile on a patient's face as a result of our treatment continuously re-ignites my love of orthodontics".Dr. DaVirro graduated in 1966 from the University of California, Santa Barbara, where he received his BS degree in Analytical Biology, Magna Cum Laude. He received his secondary Education Credential in 1967 from University of California, Davis and taught Biology at Lompoc Senior High School from 1967 to 1969. Dr. DaVirro was accepted by the University of California, Los Angeles School of Dentistry as a Regents Scholar in 1970 and in 1974 he received his DDS degree graduating Cum Laude. He also completed his Orthodontic training at the University of California, Los Angeles School of Dentistry in 1976 and in 1988 was the first graduate of the UCLA Department of Orthodontics to become certified by the American Board of Orthodontics, the only specialty board recognized by the American Dental Association and sponsored by the American Association of Orthodontists. In March of 2007 Dr. DaVirro undertook a rigorous voluntary re-certification examination and was honored by the American Board of Orthodontics for setting an excellent example for his fellow certified colleagues. In May 2009 Dr. DaVirro was awarded Life Active status as a member of the American Association of Orthodontics. Dr. DaVirro is an active member of the American Dental Association-California Dental Association, Santa Barbara-Ventura Dental Society, American Association of Orthodontists , Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists, American Board of Orthodontists, UCLA Dental Alumni Association, Appolonians (the financial support group for UCLA School of Dentistry), and Omikron Kappa Upsilon (National Scholastic Dental Fraternity). Dr. DaVirro moved from Palos Verdes to the Santa Ynez Valley in 1993. In his leisure time, Dr. DaVirro enjoys barbequing, golf, traveling, and spending as much time as possible with family & friends. Dr. DaVirro has two grown children, a son Michael, a daughter Zoe, and seven grandchildren. Dr. DaVirro has a twin brother, Kerry, also an Orthodontist, living in Pacific Palisades. Dr. DaVirro and his wife Jill reside in Santa Ynez. Dr. DaVirro is committed to the practice of "state-of-the-art" orthodontics in a pleasant, relaxed professional atmosphere where attention is given to every detail.
